Teenagers and Parents Confidence Building
The Project:
During the first meeting I had with the mother and her two children ages 9 and 14 years I realized that the key issue was the lack of confidence which to a large extend had its’ origin from the parents behavior.
Guidance Methodology:
- The tools used at first aimed at helping the people to recognize their strengths and weaknesses through the Personal SWOT analysis. Often people who lack of confidence, focus on the negative aspects only and do not give the opportunity to themselves to focus on the positive ones that definitely exist.
- The use of structured questions, based on their analysis to determine exactly the issue that needed improvement.
- Identification of the issues which we will have to work together with their family environment at a specific time frame /deadline.
- Design of specific and measurable ways, techniques, tools and guidance. These were used to help individuals gradually increase their confidence levels and adopt attitude and behavioral changes in their daily lives with the support of their environment.
Result:
After finishing the coaching sessions, the three people (children and parent) had dramatically increased their confidence levels as assessed by their environment (parents, school). They all saw a noticeable difference to the attitude and behavior of the teenagers. The teenagers and the Parent also felt the positive changes in their lives.
