The information ‘Criminals’ are everywhere and you don’t wear a Bullet Proof Jacket. Be cautious as we live in the era of misinformation and deception.

With the increase of digital information digital comment creation tools and sources and the fashionable goal of more and more people trying desperately to be anything but themselves , we are constantly receiving huge amounts of misinformation. Not necessarily intentionally ( deceptive) even though there is a lot of deceptive information as well out there. Consider also the information we receive from sources with conflicting or mutual interests.

But the biggest problem is the amount of information posted out by people without the skill( practical ) or even the basic education ( knowledge) to substantiate what they say. All you need is a smartphone and a few accounts to digital media. Just check one or two of the social media for 5 minutes and you will see the magnitude of the problem.

For example, a doctor creating videos on how you can develop a financial plan, a banker on how to cook the ultimate burger, a lawyer on how to strategize and plan your business, a talker how to listen, a crook how to become a millionaire, a thief how to sell, a 250 Kg person how to loose weight, a desperate real estate agent without the background explaining why buying property is a good investment and the list goes on and on and on.

I have just been reminded of a colleague who’s expert opinion is that in order to even consider that you know any subject adequately you need to work on the subject for at least 10000 hours. Now, that is equivalent to full time job on the subject for 5-6 years. Working on the subject itself not just working anywhere , doing anything. Check this information out It may be misinformation Or isn’t ?

So, in my opinion, you need to do 2 things to protect yourself from the bullets if information criminals.

1. Do a scan , I mean a thorough scan on the sources of information you read or listen and

2. Until you do #1 minimize the exposure of your eyes and ears to information. At least don’t take anything for granted.
